Santiago Boira
Santiago Boira graduated in psychology from the University of Salamanca (Spain) and received his Ph.D. from the University of Zaragoza (Spain). Currently he is Lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Sociology at the University of Zaragoza. His research interests focus on gender issues, intimate partner violence, especially in men abusers. Some of the recent papers and Books include: Fear, conformity and silence. Intimate partner violence in rural areas of Ecuador (Psychosocial Intervention, 2015), Difficulties, skills and therapy strategies in interventions with court-ordered batterers in Spain (Aggression and Violent Behavior, 2013), Male abuser: type of violence and perception of the relationship with the victim (Psychological Reports, 2013) and Hombres maltratadores. Historias de violencia masculina (2010). He is a member of the network Femicide Across Europe, Cost Action IS-1206. He is researcher of the Group of Social and Economic Studies of the Third Sector (GESES). He also coordinates the group on Violence on the Inter-Doctoral Programme in Science and Humanities for Interdisciplinary Development at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Humanities of the UNAM (Mexico) and the Autonomous University of Coahuila.
Jesús Aguerri
Jesús C. Aguerri is journalist and PhD student in Sociology of Public and Social Policy at University of Zaragoza. His research focus on how the state manages Islamist radicalization. His main scholarly skills include social stratification, state violence, symbolic violence, sociology of law and sociology of power. His research experience also includes urban space and street harassment. He is researcher at the Project Citizens and Criminal Justice: An analysis of citizens´ opinion about the criminal justice system.
Juan David Gómez-Quintero
Juan David Gómez-Quintero is a sociologist from Medellin (Colombia); his research experience includes Violence in Colombia and Social forms of Violence such as social exclusion, racism and xenophobia in Spain. He also coordinates the group on Violence on the Inter-Doctoral Programme in Science and Humanities for Interdisciplinary Development at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Humanities of the UNAM (Mexico) and the Autonomous University of Coahuila. He teaches on Social Work and Social Services degree, and doctoral programme in Sociology of Social and Public Policies in Psychology and Sociology Department of Zaragoza University (Spain).
Maria Lameiras Fernandez
Maria Lameiras Fernandez has a PhD. in Psychology from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), and is a full Professor at the Faculty of Education (University of Vigo, Spain) and from 1996 onwards, chair of the research team on gender and sexuality. Her main scholarly interests include issues of sexual diversity, gender equality, sexual education and intimate partner violence. He has been a visiting professor at several European and American universities, the last at Princeton University (EEUU) for a semester in 2015. She has published in prestigious international and national journals, including papers with professors Peter Glick (Lawrence University, EEUU) and Susan Fiske (Princeton, EEUU), coauthors of the Theory of Ambivalent Sexism (1996). She was the vice-rector of the University of Vigo during the period 2010-2014. Currently she is a member of the network Femicide Across Europe, Cost Action IS-1206.
Chaime Marcuello-Servós
Chaime Marcuello-Servós is member of the ISCH COST Action IS1206 Femicide across Europe and chair of working group on definitions. He teaches Social Work and Social Services in the Department of Psychology and Sociology at the University of Zaragoza and coordinator of the Doctoral programme in the Sociology of Public and Social Policy. He also coordinates the group on Violence on the Inter-Doctoral Programme in Science and Humanities for Interdisciplinary Development at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Humanities of the UNAM (Mexico) and the Autonomous University of Coahuila. In addition, he is Coordinator and co-founder of the Interdisciplinary Teaching Innovation Group (GIDID), member and co-founder of the Third Sector Social and Economic Studies Group (GESES). He has doctorate in Sociology from the University of Zaragoza (1997) and he was awarded PhD Extraordinary Award in Social Sciences. He is currently President elect of the RC51 on Sociocybernetics for the period (2014-2018).
