Asser H. Thomsen, MD
Graduated from Aarhus University, Denmark in 2005. Completed training as a specialist in forensic medicine at Aarhus University in 2014. Previous peer reviewed scientific work includes the epidemiology of carbon monoxide poisoning and post-mortem computerized tomography. Areas of particular interest are homicide in general, concealed homicides, sexual homicides, asphyxia and traumatology. Currently enrolled as a part time PhD student at Aarhus University with the project “Homicides in Denmark 1992-2016”. This study of approx. +1400 homicides will focus on the extent and variation of trauma as seen by the forensic pathologist, but will include data on methods, motives, relations, intoxication, concealed homicides etc.. The project is expected to be completed medio 2019. Asser works at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Aarhus University. |
